Asking For A Room In A French
Hotel
If you’re visiting France (or a French speaking
country) on holiday then you’ll need some accommodation.
You’ll also need to know how to ask for
the kind of room you want in French. So this is what we are
going to teach you in this article.
Let’s get started:
Firstly, to ask for what you would
like, you’ll need to use “Je voudrais” or “je souhaite”. These
phrases mean “I’d like”.
Here are some examples of how you might
use them.
“Je voudrais une chamber avec un
balcon”. This means I’d like a room with a balcony.
“Je voudrais reserve rune chamber
double pour deux nuits”. This means I’d like to book a double
room for two nights.
You would use “je souhaite” like this:
“Je souhaite rester deux nuits”. This means I’d like to stay
two nights.
Another way of asking for what you
would like is to use Je veux instead of Je voudrais. “Je veux”
means “I want”, and is a more direct way of asking for
something.
If you would like to simply make an
enquiry like “Do you have…?” you can use “Est-ce que vous
avez”. For example “Est-ce que vous avez des chambers de
libre?” This means Have you got any rooms free?
Hopefully these simple phrases and
vocabulary will help you out when it comes to booking your
accommodation if you ever visit France.
