Asking More Questions
You may like to ask someone what they do for a
living. To say this you will say “Quest-ce que tu fais dans la
vie?”
Here are a few other questions you may
need to ask someone:
“Where do you work?” is “Ou est-ce que
tu travailles
“Where do you live?” is “Ou est-ce que
tu habites?”
As you can see, Ou means Where. To ask
more questions, you can change Ou to Quand (this means when),
or “quoi” (this means what).
Here are a few more examples, this time
using “when”:
Quand est-ce que tu arrives? This means
When will you be here?
Another question you could ask
someone is “C’est quand ton anniversaire?” Which means “When is
your birthday”.
When you’re having a conversation with
someone, you will probably want to ask questions of other
people. The easiest way to do this is to say “tell me about…”
and then say whatever it is that you want to ask
about.
To say “tell me” in French you would
say “parlez-moi”.
Here’s a few example questions you may
like to ask:
“Parlez-moi un peu de vous”, This means
“Tell me a bit about yourself”.
“Parlez-moi de votre famille” is
another question you may like to ask. This means “tell me about
your family”.
