How To Reassure Someone In
French
This article explains how to reassure someone,
if they have done something which caused them to say sorry or
apologize to you.
So let’s start:
Firstly, we’ll give you the two most
common phrases people use in France to reassure
someone.
The first one is “n’est pas grave”
(which means “It doesn’t matter”), and the second one is “ca ne
fait rien” (which means “forget about it”).
Here are a few additional phrases
someone may say to you or you may need to say to
someone:
“Ne t’en fais pas” is a useful phrase,
which means “don’t worry!”
Then there is “Il n’y a pas de
probleme” which means “don’t worry about it”.
Or you could say “t’inquiete pas! C’est
pas grave” which means “don’t worry about it! It doesn’t
matter”.
Another question you could ask
someone is “C’est quand ton anniversaire?” Which means “When is
your birthday”.
When you’re having a conversation with
someone, you will probably want to ask questions of other
people. The easiest way to do this is to say “tell me about…”
and then say whatever it is that you want to ask
about.
To say “tell me” in French you would
say “parlez-moi”.
Here’s a few example questions you may
like to ask:
“Parlez-moi un peu de vous”, This means
“Tell me a bit about yourself”.
“Parlez-moi de votre famille” is
another question you may like to ask. This means “tell me about
your family”.
