How To Say Sorry In French

In this article we are going to teach you a few different ways to apologize and say sorry in French.

You never know when you may have a reason to apologize for something, even if it’s something small.

So with this in mind, let’s learn a few simple phrases:

Firstly, if you just want to say “I’m sorry” you can use “pardon” or “je m’excuse”.

If you’ve done something a little worse, you should say “je suis desole” (desolee if you’re a woman).

But if you’ve just accidentally bumped into someone in the street, just say “pardon” or “excusez-moi” if you’re trying to get past.
