How To Say Sorry In French
In this article we are going to teach
you a few different ways to apologize and say sorry in
French.
You never know when you may have a
reason to apologize for something, even if it’s something
small.
So with this in mind, let’s learn a few
simple phrases:
Firstly, if you just want to say “I’m
sorry” you can use “pardon” or “je m’excuse”.
If you’ve done something a little
worse, you should say “je suis desole” (desolee if you’re a
woman).
But if you’ve just accidentally bumped
into someone in the street, just say “pardon” or “excusez-moi”
if you’re trying to get past.
If you’re apologizing because you
are late, you can say “Je m’excuse d’etre en retard”. This
means “I’m sorry I’m late.”
To be a little more dramatic with your
apology, you can use “Je suis vraiment desole” which means “I’m
really sorry”. Or you could use “Je suis sincerement desolee”
which means “I’m truly sorry”.
This phrases should be enough to cover
a situation where you need to make an apology. We hope you find
this useful, and we hope you don’ have to use these phrases too
much!
