January = janvier Note: The months of the year in French do not start with a capital letter as they do in English…unless they are at the start of a sentence.
summer = l’ete Here's a quick note on usage (learn this if you want to get things perfect, but if you don't... you'll still get by) Use the preposition en to express “in” with months and seasons, except with printemps, when au is used:
en juillet = (in July)
en ete = (in the summer) An important fact to remember if you have a lot of appointments in a French-speaking country is that French calendars start with Monday as the first day of the week, rather than Sunday. |
